Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Verde sets new world record

Alfa Romeo’s new Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the company’s new hot hatchback, is already breaking records.

As you can see from Alfa Romeo’s video of the event, they took over 2500 water filled balloons to create the iconic serpent and cross logo.

A professional stunt driver, Terry Grant, used the top of the range Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde to smash through the balloons, demonstrating not only his skill but the car’s handling abilities.

Smashing 2,738 balloons gave him and the new Alfa the new world record for the most amount of water balloons burst by a car. Not to mention the envy of fun-loving motorists everywhere.

Alfa Romeo planned the stunt to celebrate the launch of the Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the new top of the range, ultra-sporty Alfa MiTo.

Award-winning engine provides powerful performance.

The new Alfa MiTo showcases Alfa’s award-winning 170 bhp MultiAir petrol engine, voted 2010 ‘Engine of the Year’. Capable of a top speed of 136 mph and going from 0 to 62mph in 7.5 seconds, in the Quadrifoglio Verde the engine comes with a unique trim, designed to appeal to enthusiastic ‘Alfistis’.

Start and Stop and Gear Shift Indicators come as standard, further improving the performance, lower fuel consumption, low CO2 emissions and dynamic fuel management that inspired the engine’s design.

Top-notch safety and security

The Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde maintains the safety and security features that reviewers raved about in the Alfa MiTo. The car scooped a 5 star NCAP rating for providing seven airbags, electronic stability control and active anti-whiplash head restraints as standard.

A sophisticated braking system, involving Cornering Brake Control and Dynamic Steering Torque, maintains the car’s stability and gives excellent grip. This allows the driver to experience the speed and agility of the Quadrifoglio Verde without sacrificing safety.

Safety concerns combine with the Alfa’s signature styling too. The distinctive circular LED tail-lights, rimmed with eyeliner-style contrasting materials, improve visibility in low-light conditions.

Updated Italian style

The exterior of the Alfa MiTo range develops the iconic style of the Alfa 8C Competizione, with flush glazed side windows, the ‘trilobo’ motif on the front bumpers and the shape of the lights.

This is added to in the Alfa Quadrifoglio Verde by unique 18″ alloy wheels fitted with 214/40 R18 tyres and twin chrome exhaust pipes.

The Quadrifoglio Verde updates the sleek and sophisticated interior with sporty carbon fibre backed black bucket seats.

Other luxurious touches include darkened interior headlining, black leather steering wheel and hand-brake, trimmed with green stitching, and matte black steering wheel inserts.
