The new Jaguar XJ saloon looks the part, and it also benefits from some intelligent lightweight aluminium construction. As such, it represents a very viable option in the luxury sector for anyone who wants an alternative to what the German’s are offering. Jaguar was certainly flagging as we entered the millennium, but in the last 5 years it’s picked up a lot. Still as suave as ever, the brand is now cool. More importantly of all, it’s relevant once more. The XJ faces some stiff competition from the likes of the the Mercedes S-Class, the Audi A8 and the BMW 7 Series, but thanks to some major revisions it looks as though it’s got enough to lay down a gauntlet. Let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer with our review.

The new BMW 4 Series convertible is based on the coupe, and it provides almost as much practicality. What sets it apart, though, is the utter thrills and spills it offers once you fold the roof down and take it for a cruise in the sunshine. It’s got a new name and number, but this car has risen out of the ashes of the old BMW 3 Series convertible. If you liked that car but thought it needed a bit of tweaking, the Munich company have adhered to your wishes. OSV takes a closer look at what it’s all about.

Audi is one of those manufacturers that strives to have a car for every possible customer requirement. The Audi RS Q3 is the perfect example of this pursuit, seeking to be a blend of SUV comfort and practicality with sports car levels of performance.
It’s certainly a rather quirky mixture, and with prices starting from £45,820, it has to deliver on a certain level of quality, both in terms of the driving experience and the luxurious feel expected of a high-end Audi product.

The Audi A6 Avant is actually a saloon that has somehow achieved more fame as an estate down the years, which is certainly not something you can say about a lot of other cars. There is, of course, the Subaru Legacy and the Volvo 850, but perhaps one of the reasons why the Avant and its two aforementioned rivals have proved to be so popular is that other competitors – such as the Mercedes E-class and the BMW 5 Series are predominantly seen as saloons only.

For the Aston Martin Vanquish, the brand have set about making a number of changes in order to make it more dynamic, swifter, and cleaner.
With more exterior colours to choose from than ever before, as well as brand new lightweight alloys and an eight-speed Touchtronic III gearbox, the Aston Martin is certainly new. With consumers suggesting that the brand have been sitting idly recently, preferring to tweak and refine what they’ve got as opposed to welcoming in modernity, no one can really accuse the new Aston Martin Vanquish as being a mere replica of what’s come before. Let’s take a closer look at what it offers.
