SOMETIMES a car comes along that is surprisingly good, a car that in its previous form was fine but no segment leader.
In this case it is the estate version of the Peugeot 308. In some respects perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise. After all the hatchback 308 has scooped up some impressive awards including European Car of the Year. However Peugeot has gone that bit further with the 308SW, its name for the estate, by adding new engines at the same time. Around 70 per cent of 308SW buyers are expected to be company car drivers who have either been given the car because their job demands a cost-effective load carrier or they’ve chosen the car because they need something to suit their life outside work.
